About the Role:

We are seeking experienced IBM i / AS400 Developers to support legacy application analysis, reverse engineering and modernization projects.

Please note: This is an upcoming prospect. Qualified applicants who apply will become part of Aliant Resources' Talent Community and may be considered for current and future contract opportunities with our public sector and enterprise clients.

Key Responsibilities:

- Analyze and maintain RPG, RPGLE and COBOL applications.
- Document existing programs, business rules and batch processing.
- Review DB2/400 data structures, interfaces and dependencies.
- Support modernization, data migration and regression testing.
- Work with technical architects and business analysts.

Required Qualifications:

- 8+ years of IBM i / AS400 development experience.
- Strong RPG/RPGLE and/or COBOL/COBOL ILE expertise.
- Experience with DB2/400, SQL and CL programming.
- Understanding of batch processing, file handling and legacy integrations.
- Experience with application documentation and troubleshooting.

Preferred: CA 2E/SYNON, LANSA or legacy-to-Java modernization experience. At Aliant Resources,
