Duties

- Perform thorough eye examinations utilizing advanced diagnostic tools to assess visual acuity, eye health, and overall physiology.
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of ocular conditions, including those related to ophthalmology specialties.
- Prescribe corrective lenses and contact lenses tailored to individual needs, ensuring optimal visual performance.
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and treatment options while providing exceptional customer service.
- Conduct vital signs assessments and utilize aseptic techniques during examinations to ensure patient safety.




- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals on complex cases requiring specialized ophthalmology knowledge or pediatric care expertise.
- Manage medical coding accurately for billing purposes and ensure compliance with healthcare standards.

Experience

- Proven experience in optometry practice with a strong foundation in ophthalmology principles and physiology knowledge.
- Hands-on optical experience with fitting lenses, contact lenses, and understanding of optical products.
- Experience working with pediatric patients and addressing diverse vision needs across age groups.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient documentation and record management.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye health and anatomy to facilitate precise diagnosis and communication.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent patient care while maintaining high standards of hygiene, aseptic technique, and confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
- Strong customer service skills combined with sales experience to recommend appropriate optical solutions effectively.
