WHO WE ARE ONE KIDS PLACE Children’s Treatment Centre provides rehabilitation and related support services for children and youth (up to the age of 19) and their families living in the Districts of Muskoka, Nipissing and Parry Sound. All staff will provide service within an interdisciplinary team environment committed to family-centered practice.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Position: Therapy Assistant (Internship) Location: Nipissing Effective: ASAP - 12 month contract Status: Non-Unionized Job type: Contract, Full Time - 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

- To ensure we can meet the needs of our communities at times that work best for them, our staff are expected to maintain flexibility in their schedules, which may include working outside standard business hours as per client needs. _

**: The Therapy Assistant will work with the Rehabilitation Therapists and Teacher to deliver an integrated service plan to children transitioning to school. The Therapy Assistant will work daily in the classroom planning and implementing programming for children in the pre-academic environment. Assist children in toileting, dressing, following routines, socializing with others, developing the skills necessary to transition successfully to school, and ensuring documentation is consistent with agency standards.

QUALIFICATIONS :

- Related experience assisting children with multiple, complex needs
- Individual will be responsible for carrying out group and individual activities with children in an effort to teach and develop the skills necessary to transition successfully to school
- Individual will be working directly with a Rehabilitation Therapists and Teacher in the Transitions to School Program
- Working knowledge of community resources and supports within the District of Nipissing




- Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team workplace under the supervision of assigned therapists
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills/Excellent oral and written communication skills to collect data and evaluate the children’s progress towards goal attainment
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- Computer competency and adaptable in the use of computer software for the purpose of assessments, documentation, programming and communication.
- Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
- Proof of COVID Vaccinations as required by the sector

SOMMAIRE DU POSTE : L’assistant(e) en thérapie travaillera avec les thérapeutes en réadaptation et l’enseignant(e) afin de mettre en œuvre un plan de services intégré pour les enfants en transition vers l’école. L’assistant(e) en thérapie travaillera quotidiennement en classe pour planifier et mettre en œuvre des programmes pour les enfants dans un environnement préacadémique. Il/elle aidera les enfants dans les routines de toilette et d’habillage, dans le suivi des routines, la socialisation avec les pairs, le développement des compétences nécessaires pour réussir la transition vers l’école, tout en veillant à ce que la documentation soit conforme aux normes de l’organisme.

RESPONSABILITÉS :

- Réaliser des activités de groupe et individuelles avec les enfants afin de leur enseigner et développer les compétences nécessaires pour une transition réussie vers l’école.
