Are you a 2 nd Year Apprentice Welder who is looking to advance your skills? Join SMS Equipment in Kamloops where you’ll support repairs and fabrication across a wide range of equipment and work hands-on with industry-leading machines along side a team that know quality matters.
In this role, you'll work with Komatsu and other heavy-duty equipment to support equipment performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Base Wage: $36.62 per hour. Schedule: 7x7 rotation (day and night)
Assist in repair, fabricate, and assembly of Komatsu and other heavy-duty industrial equipment.
Modify and customize mobile equipment and components to customer specifications.
Support failure analysis and collaborate with the Service Manager to develop repair solutions.
Complete work efficiently while meeting quality and safety standards.
You bring 2 nd Year apprenticeship to become a journeyperson Welder. Knowledge of maintenance and repair practices for mining or heavy equipment.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with colleagues and customers.
Ability to travel and meet customer site requirements.
Experience with Komatsu equipment is an asset.
The position is classified as an Individual Contributor role in SMS Equipment’s competency framework, requiring demonstration of core competencies (customer focus, collaboration, and technical/functional expertise).

- Pre-employment medical examination
- Weld Test
