A Vancouver practice with a significant Indigenous law group is seeking a lawyer to advise First Nations clients on governance, treaty, and related matters.
Advise First Nations governments and organizations on legal matters, including governance and treaty issues
Draft agreements, policies, and legal opinions for Indigenous community clients
Build and maintain long-term relationships with First Nations clients
Collaborate with colleagues across related practice areas (lands, resources, litigation)
5+ years of experience in Indigenous law or a closely related field
- Genuine interest in and sensitivity to working with Indigenous communities
- Robust drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills
- Willingness to travel to community meetings as required
