We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized and motivated Articled Student to join our legal team.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a commitment to providing exceptional support in a fast-paced legal office.

This role involves assisting lawyers with various tasks, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and delivered in timely fashion, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the legal practice.

Duties of Article Student

- Provide some administrative support to lawyers and paralegals.
- Perform data entry and maintain organized filing systems for case files and documents.
- Assist in project management by tracking deadlines and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Utilize Esilaw (now called Unity Accounting) for managing client files/accounting.
- Maintain qualified phone etiquette while communicating with clients, courts, and all others.
- Support clerical functions such as scanning, copying, and sending/serving documents as needed.
- Attend Court.




- Conduct thorough research on legal precedents and case law using tools such as CanLii and other databases.
- Utilize Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, Excel) and Adobe for document management and collaboration within the team.
- Draft legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence with attention to detail.
- Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses, documenting information accurately.
- Proofread legal documents for clarity, accuracy, and compliance with legal standards.
- Client billing and time entries.

Requirements for Article Student

- Excellent writing skills for drafting clear and concise legal documents.
- Proficiency in research techniques and familiarity with legal databases such as CanLii and others.
- Ability to conduct interviews professionally while gathering necessary information.
- Attention to detail in proofreading documents for accuracy before submission.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
