C2627-36 Grade 5-8 Generalist Teacher - Iron River School

This is a part-time (0.5 fte) position commencing as soon as possible. Iron River School is seeking a dedicated and caring middle school Generalist Teacher to teach grade 5-8, and who will work collaboratively with the school community to create a welcoming and engaging learning workplace where all students learn and excel.

Iron River School is located in the community of Iron River with approximately 95 students in Preschool to grade 8. At Iron River School we believe that each and every person can learn and has the opportunity to learn, student and staff are entitled to a safe and caring learning environment,



stakeholders should have opportunities for meaningful involvement and that education is everyone's responsibility.

Reporting directly to the principal, the successful candidate will:

- Ensure effective planning, instruction and assessment for students
- Develop and nurture a positive, supportive and inclusive classroom environment
- Create the classroom conditions for students to achieve the outcomes as outlined in the Alberta Curriculum
- Interact positively and effectively with a diverse student and parent population
- Work collaboratively as a member of a professional learning community
- Nurture strong relationships with students, staff, parents and the school community

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

- A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Previous experience teaching the assigned courses/subjects is an asset
- The ability to achieve Alberta Education's Teaching Quality Standards
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to lifelong learning and professional improvement
