Your future starts here.PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:Senior Storeperson acts as liaison for the shop Management, Procurement Staff and Manager ensuring that work assignments are completed in a safe and efficient manner. Receives, warehouses, issues or ships supplies and material used in the operation of the railroad. Ensures or performs accurate and timely information in SAP electronically through the use of a computer and Coordinates picking and shipping of all material to customer locations in accordance with shipping schedules.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:Lead and coordinate the daily activities of unionized store personnelPerform receiving and issuing functions critical to inventory operations, including maintaining storage locations, recording inventory counts, and updating inventory systemsIdentify, verify, and ensure the accuracy of material shipments received from suppliers, maintenance shops, and other warehouse locationsPrepare, package, and organize materials for shipment, including completing all required documentation such as shipping labels, postal forms, waybills, and shipping recordsOperate material handling equipment, including forklifts, electric hoists, and Raymond lift trucks, to safely load, unload, and move materials and productsConduct daily inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure protected operating conditions, and promptly report hazards or deficiencies to the appropriate supervisor for corrective actionEnsure compliance with Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
