We are seeking a highly accomplished Senior Business Analyst for an enterprise-level contract opportunity based in Toronto. In this role, you will take on a key business analysis, process modeling, and data analysis capacity, specializing in translating complex business challenges into structured technical requirements, swim lane workflow diagrams, and data-driven solutions. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will bridge the gap between business stakeholders, technical engineering teams, and external vendors. Operating fully onsite in Toronto, you will lead JAD sessions and requirements workshops, author detailed user stories and acceptance criteria, perform database analysis using SQL, and design future-state process maps using MS Visio. This position demands an analytical problem solver with hands-on proficiency in Agile and Waterfall delivery frameworks who can optimize workflows, track requirements across Azure DevOps or Jira, and ensure seamless project delivery. Agile & Hybrid Tooling Mastery: Utilize industry-standard platforms including Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, and Figma. Responsibilities Lead and facilitate requirements gathering workshops, JAD sessions, and stakeholder interviews to elicit and document business needs. Author transparent, actionable use cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria to guide technical development and quality assurance teams. Perform database analysis and author SQL queries to inspect data structures, validate system behavior, and support data-driven decision-making. Conduct business process re-engineering and workflow mapping, creating detailed MS Visio diagrams and swim lane process models.



Act as the primary liaison between business units, software developers, QA leads, and external vendors to ensure alignment on solution scope. Document current-state and future-state system architectures, context diagrams, and detailed business rules. Manage, track, and trace functional and technical requirements throughout iterative development lifecycles using Jira, Confluence, and Azure DevOps. Identify workflow bottlenecks, automation opportunities, and digital transformation enhancements to streamline operational service delivery. Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by validating delivered system functionality against approved business requirements. Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, executive briefings, status reports, and stakeholder presentations. Qualifications Business Analysis Experience: Proven track record gathering, analyzing, and documenting complex data, system, and business requirements for enterprise IT initiatives. Process Modeling Mastery: Expert-level proficiency creating MS Visio process maps, swim lane diagrams, and workflow models (using Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, or Figma). Agile & Technical Documentation: Deep expertise defining user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria across Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall methodologies. SQL & Database Analysis: Hands-on experience analyzing relational databases and writing SQL queries for data inspection and validation. Requirements & Collaboration Tools: Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, SharePoint, and MS Teams for requirements management and project tracking. Stakeholder Facilitation: Exceptional facilitation, interview, and negotiation skills to align business users, technical teams, and third-party vendors. Preferred Assets & Domain Experience Data Visualization & Analytics:



Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Power BI or Advanced Excel. Enterprise Solutions: Working knowledge of enterprise ERP, CRM, or cloud-based platforms. Public Sector Context: Prior experience within public sector environments or structured enterprise governance frameworks is considered an asset.
