The Kitchen Steward's position is called upon to support the kitchen and service staff by cleaning dishes, silverware and any other implements used in the process of creating and serving dishes to the clientele. They are also responsible to ensure cleanliness of his station and of the kitchens.RESPONSIBILITIESWashing all dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pansOrganize and stack clean dishes and equipment safelyUse dishwasher and kitchen tools safely and as directedSafely handle cleaning supplies and chemicalsEnsure organization of station and participate in kitchen cleanlinessEnsure cleanliness of kitchen and culinary work areasEmpty trash and recycling binsSweep, mop and wash fixtures as needed or directedQUALIFICATIONSMust be available to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, and/or weekends & holidaysAbility to effectively communicate with colleaguesAble to stand or walk for extended periods of time (8 hours) and lift at least 50 lbsUnderstanding of kitchen operations, health and safety rulesAbility to work in a team setting and to work independently
