About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician specializing in instrumentation to join their operations team in Kimberley . This role is essential for the installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of critical instrumentation and control systems across various industrial processes. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of measurement devices and control loops, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses strong troubleshooting skills, and has hands-on experience with a wide range of industrial instruments and control hardware, working within a dedicated technical team.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair a variety of industrial instrumentation , including sensors, transmitters, and control valves.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in instrumentation and control loops, ensuring optimal performance.
- Perform routine checks and preventative maintenance on measurement and control equipment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs;, and schematics for instrumentation systems.




- Work with PLCs and DCS systems to diagnose and resolve control loop issues.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company procedures.
- Document maintenance activities, calibration results, and repairs accurately.

Requirements

- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Light Current) or relevant trade qualification (e.g., Instrument Mechanician).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Electrical Technician focusing on instrumentation.
- Proven experience with industrial sensors, transmitters, control valves, and actuators.
- Familiarity with PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems.
- Strong understanding of calibration procedures and standards.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
