About The Job

Cariboo Memorial Hospital (CMH) has 28 inpatient beds, 14 Emergency beds plus a trauma room, in addition to a 4-bed ICU and obstetrics unit. CMH is a very close-knit team of multi-disciplinary professionals, and we pride ourselves on supporting one another in the Lab, and across the facility.

CMH is a diverse care setting that is undergoing expansion and there are opportunities in the Lab and other departments, as the site and community grows. You will be a part of the bigger IH network with access to colleagues, resources, employee services, education and training; whatever direction your career takes you.

Medical Laboratory Assistants perform a variety of duties such as taking blood and specimen samples from patients, preparing blood and other specimens for analysis, performing routine laboratory tests, distributing specimens to departments and outside Laboratories, operating related equipment, entering data into the Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and performing related clerical duties and ECG testing as required.

This is a Permanent Full Time (1.00) opportunity.

Shifts of work will be scheduled Tuesday to Saturday, day and evening shifts.
