About the role

The IPM Applications Group Leader is responsible for the technical and commercial performance of Industrial Power Module applications and projects in Canada. The role leads and develops the applications team while overseeing hydraulic and mechatronic system solutions, customer support, quotations, and project execution.

Key responsibilities

- Lead the technical and commercial performance of Industrial Power Module applications and projects across Canada.
- Develop system solutions that support business growth in targeted Canadian industries.
- Coach and develop the applications team, assess skill gaps, and support training, cross-training, and succession planning.
- Plan and balance workloads across quotations, customer support, projects, commissioning, and strategic initiatives.
- Oversee system analysis, hydraulic and mechatronic circuit design, component selection, material specifications, technical documentation, and quotations.
- Build customer relationships, identify account opportunities, support commercial negotiations, and optimize pricing and margins.




- Provide technical support during system start-up, commissioning, and customer acceptance.
- Coordinate project execution with project managers, product management, controls, automation, electrification, and global application teams.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline; Ontario Qualified Engineer designation preferred.
- At least 7 years of experience in industrial hydraulics, mechatronic design, engineered systems, or a related technical applications environment.
- At least 5 years of experience leading, coaching, and developing technical teams.
- Knowledge of industrial applications, hydraulic systems, component selection, system design, and technical solution development.
- Experience with customer relationships, technical quotations, project management, and commercial negotiations.
- Proficiency with relevant engineering systems, with emphasis on SAP/ETO, SETi, SytronixSize, and simulation software.
