Description

The Ethnic Food Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals and individual dishes in accordance with iDine Indian Cuisines established recipes, preparation methods, quality standards, and presentation requirements, specializing in authentic Indian cuisine.

Duties include operating and managing a traditional clay tandoor oven to prepare meats, seafood, and vegetarian dishes according to the restaurants recipes and cooking procedures. Prepare and bake traditional Indian breads, including naan, roti, kulcha, and paratha, ensuring consistent quality, texture, and presentation. Prepare marinades, sauces, spice blends, and other ingredients using iDine Indian Cuisines established recipes and traditional cooking techniques.

Follow standardized recipes, ingredient measurements, portion sizes, cooking times, and seasoning specifications to maintain consistency in taste, quality, and presentation across all menu items.





Ensure all food preparation, cooking, storage, and handling practices comply with applicable Saskatchewan food safety and sanitation regulations and the restaurants hygiene standards. Maintain clean, organized, and effective kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment. Assist with ingredient preparation, inventory monitoring, stock rotation, proper food storage, and waste reduction.

Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to coordinate preparation and service, meet customer orders efficiently, and maintain the restaurants established service standards. Assist in training and supporting junior kitchen staff in proper preparation techniques, tandoor operation, recipe execution, portion control, and kitchen procedures.
