Job Overview

We are looking to hire a recent graduate with a degree in Geology. The suitable candidate must have an interest in Geology, Mapping and Modelling. Familiarity with Accumap will be an asset. You will have good command of English both written and spoken, be able to communicate effectively, work in a team workplace as well as independently.

You must be tech savvy with a keen understanding of Excel worksheets, databases and network settings. Potential occasional overnight shift. You must live in Calgary or vicinity.

Responsibilities

- Assist in collecting geological data
- Learn and use Accumap or similar software gather and analyze data
- Learn and use our proprietary software tool to analyze spatial data and create detailed maps
- Help compile and analyze data sets using data analysis skills
- Contribute to the maintenance of accurate records
- Collaborate with team members on project planning and technical documentation





Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Earth Sciences. Those with higher degrees need not apply
- Recent graduates encouraged to apply. Up to 5 years of experience. Those with more, need not apply
- Basic knowledge of Excel worksheets
- Basic knowledge of any programming language is advantageous
- Strong research skills with the ability to interpret geological literature and reports
- Excellent communication skills for documenting findings clearly and effectively

Pay: $35.00-$37.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20.0 per week
