About the Role

Our client is seeking an analytical and insightful Agricultural Economist to join their team in Kimberley . This role focuses on analyzing economic trends, market dynamics, and policy impacts within the agricultural sector, providing critical data and insights to support strategic decision-making for farming operations and industry stakeholders. You will conduct research, develop economic models, and offer recommendations on market access, financial planning, and investment opportunities. The ideal candidate possesses a strong quantitative background and a deep understanding of the economic forces shaping agriculture in the Northern Cape and South Africa.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze agricultural market trends, commodity prices, and supply chain dynamics.
- Conduct economic research on agricultural production, consumption, and trade.
- Develop financial models and forecasts for agricultural businesses and projects.
- Assess the economic impact of agricultural policies and programs.

Requirements

- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in agricultural economics research or analysis.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS) and econometrics.
- Strong understanding of agricultural markets, policy, and international trade.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and report-writing skills.
- Experience with economic modeling and forecasting techniques relevant to the Kimberley agricultural context.
