The Lax Kw'alaams Emergency Services Department has an exciting and immediate opening for a Term Full-Time First Responder. As a key member of the team, this role is responsible for providing immediate assistance and care during emergencies, including accidents, natural disasters, and other urgent situations. The role requires quick decision-making, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.ResponsibilitiesRespond promptly to emergency calls and incidentsAssess the situation quickly and determine appropriate response actionsSecure the scene to ensure the safety of victims, bystanders, and other respondersDocument incidents accurately and maintain detailed reportsInspect and maintain emergency response vehicles, equipment, and supplies during each shiftParticipate in training exercises and continuing education to maintain readinessCommunicate clearly with team members, supervisors, and external agenciesWork a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekendsNote: Perform all other duties within the scope of the position and as requestedQUALIFICATIONSEducationOccupational First Aid 2 (OFA 2) / Basic First Aid Level 2 requiredCPR and First Aid certification requiredAdditional emergency response training and certifications (Asset)ExperiencePrevious experience in emergency response,
