Axiom Builders is looking for a Superintendent who understands the balance of being relationship-focused and driving a schedule. You can keep people accountable, hit your milestones and create long-term connections with your team and trades. The ideal Superintendent has experience with wood-frame and concrete construction, managing sub-trades effectively, a track record of protected and on-time projects and is someone that others follow to your next site.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with Project Manager and regularly communicate updates such as field reports, safety inspections, staffing requirements and scheduleupdates;
- Oversee subcontractor performance with regards to safety and scope ofwork;
- Ensure sufficient staffing is provided to achieve safety,scheduleand qualityobjectives;
- Identifyand advise of design deficiencies, schedule interruptions or difficulties, and other projectissues;
- Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, site instructions and change notices to ensure scopes, terms and conditions are properlyexecuted;
- Supervise and direct trades and labourers through regular instruction, communicationfeedback;
- Support CSO and head office in ensuring all employees, subcontractors and contractors are adhering to the safetypolicies;
- Work in partnership with Head Office and communicate effectively with all departments and provides reports asrequested.
Skills & Experience
- At least five (5)+ years of experience as an assistant or superintendent for a general contractor on multi-family projects;
- Excellent record of leading a project from pre-construction tocompletion;
- Experience with infrastructure, roadworks or bridges will be considered anasset;
- Ability to build relationships with not only the field staff, but also clients and other externalstakeholders;
- Ability and proven experience to lead and motivate site crew of various sizesand scopes;
- Proven success in influencing a culture of positivity,ownershipand reliability on site.
