Job Summary: Are you a behind-the-scenes hero who loves keeping things organized and moving smoothly? Do you thrive in a rapid-paced environment where boxes, skids, and inventory are your playground? As a Stores / Freight Stockperson at Mount Washington Alpine Resort, you’ll be the lifeline of our supply chain—receiving, sorting, and delivering everything from ski gear to kitchen supplies.
If you enjoy a bit of heavy lifting, a lot of teamwork, and the satisfaction of a well-stocked shelf, this is the role for you!
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving & Freight Handling:
- Receive all incoming shipments and verify contents against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Inspect deliveries for accuracy, damage, or discrepancies and report issues promptly to the appropriate supervisor.
- Safely unload and organize freight in designated storage areas, ensuring efficient handling and minimal disruption.
- Accurately complete and sign off on delivery documentation, including invoices and freight records.
Stock Management:
- Store goods and supplies using FIFO (First In, First Out) principles to ensure proper rotation and minimize waste.
- Monitor inventory levels and proactively communicate stock shortages or overstock situations to supervisors.
- Tag, label, and organize inventory items for clear identification and traceability.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with full inventory audits to maintain accurate records.
- Record cooler and freezer temperatures at the start of each shift to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Fulfill requisitions by picking and delivering items to designated departments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Organization & Cleanliness:
- Keep storage areas (coolers, freezers, dry zones) clean, organized, and hazard-free.
- Crush cardboard, dispose of packaging, and keep pallets in check.
- Relocate empty skids, kegs, and carts like a warehouse wizard.
- Sweep, mop, and empty drip buckets—because clean floors = happy feet.
- Return empty delivery carts to the storeroom like a champion.
Documentation & Systems:
- Fill out receiving logs, shipping records, and requisition forms with care.
- Report shortages, mislabeling, and damaged goods ASAP.
- Keep your supervisor in the loop about anything unusual or broken
Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all health, safety, and food storage regulations—your safety matters!
- Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and freight elevators like a pro.
- Know your WHMIS and hazard procedures.
- Report defective equipment or unsafe situations—safety first, always.
- Tackle other duties as assigned.
