This Opportunity:

We are currently looking to fill a part-time Personal Support Worker (known internally as Support Service Attendant) / Health Care Aide position in the Niagara Region.

- Wage: $23.11 per hour, plus paid travel time and mileage. This compensation is inclusive of a $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario government for hours spent directly supporting clients. The wage enhancement does not apply to training and paid leave. The base wage is $20.11 per hour.

- Hours of Work: Up to 25 hours per week

- Schedule: Varies, including days, evenings, and every other weekend

A valid driver's licence, proof of insurance, and a reliable vehicle are required.

Responsibilities

Assists consumers in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and March of Dimes Canada policies and procedures, including:

- Personal care
- Dressing and grooming
- Rising and retiring
- Incontinence care (upon training)
- Meal preparation and feeding
- Range of motion exercises
- Light housekeeping duties




- Lifts and transfers (upon training)

Additional responsibilities include:
- Performing duties professionally while respecting the dignity and privacy of consumers and maintaining the health and safety of consumers and staff.
- Working a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, across different locations throughout the Niagara Region.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain
- Experience working with individuals with physical disabilities, older adults, or as an informal caregiver is considered an asset but is not required
- Good interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work versatile and regularly scheduled hours
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation are required
