Axiom Builders is looking for a Superintendent who understands the balance of being relationship-focused and driving a schedule. You can keep people accountable, hit your milestones and create long-term connections with your team and trades. The ideal Superintendent has experience with wood-frame and concrete construction, managing sub-trades effectively, a track record of secure and on-time projects and is someone that others follow to your next site.
Key Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with Project Manager and regularly communicate updates such as field reports, safety inspections, staffing requirements and scheduleupdates;
Oversee subcontractor performance with regards to safety and scope ofwork;
Ensure sufficient staffing is provided to achieve safety,scheduleand qualityobjectives;
Identifyand advise of design deficiencies, schedule interruptions or difficulties, and other projectissues;
Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, site instructions and change notices to ensure scopes, terms and conditions are properlyexecuted;
Supervise and direct trades and labourers through regular instruction, communicationfeedback;
Support CSO and head office in ensuring all employees, subcontractors and contractors are adhering to the safetypolicies;
Work in partnership with Head Office and communicate effectively with all departments and provides reports asrequested.
Skills & Experience
At least five (5)+ years of experience as an assistant or superintendent for a general contractor on multi-family projects;
Excellent record of leading a project from pre-construction tocompletion;
Experience with infrastructure, roadworks or bridges will be considered anasset;
Ability to build relationships with not only the field staff, but also clients and other externalstakeholders;
Ability and proven experience to lead and motivate site crew of various sizesand scopes;
Proven success in influencing a culture of positivity,ownershipand reliability on site.
