At Giannone Petricone Associates (GPA) we are designing environments inspired by a love of city-making and contemporary urban culture. From large-scale urban redevelopments to well-crafted interiors (and everything in-between) our work relishes in a close attention to detail and material expression, provocative programs, and thorough investigation and infiltration of local contexts.
We are currently seeking an experienced BIM Manager (BM) to support our studio. The BM will possess a curiosity for innovation in digital design and project delivery and will advance the technical skills of others. The BM will work with studio leaders to develop and produce Revit standards, templates, families, model management, and digital workflow protocols to be implemented across our practice and will provide support to the team. The BM will work closely with management and will make recommendations around software selection and usage to advance the firm’s digital practice.
The BM will have an advanced understanding of VR, AI, generative and computational design, data curation, and coding.
Responsibilities Work closely with studio leaders to develop Revit startup templates incorporating drawing standards, families, and model management protocols
Develop standard BIM documentation such as BIM Execution Plan (BxP) documents and requirements, LOC Matrices, Schedules, Libraries
Develop digital workflow protocol in consultation with studio leaders, including optimal collaboration between different software platforms such as Rhino and SketchUp
Implement GPA’s Revit standards and digital workflow protocol. Where necessary, collaborate with project teams to update Revit standards and digital workflow with studio leaders’ review and approval
Assist in improving profitability for studio projects through integrated project delivery systems
Create Revit families, associating 3D geometry with a strategically derived set of shared parameters essential for scheduling purposes
Create protocols for critical elements,
including communication, data exchange, and 3D workspace
Develop a Technical Manual to assist staff in improving their skills in compliance with digital delivery protocols, i.e. project startup, how to work with consultant drawings, and troubleshooting issues
Mentor project teams on best practices and "tips-and-tricks" to improve workflows
Train and assess staff's digital literacy directly related to the firm's operations
Facilitate digital delivery training for new and existing employees
Lead project-related clash detection processes and develop associated reports (Navisworks, BIM 360 Coordinate)
Support and monitor projects for quality compliance and management of data integrity and organization
Conduct the maintenance and manage the organization of the central database housing all Revit models developed to date
Investigate, actively support, and keep firm management apprised of ongoing or proposed improvements to GPA’s design and automation tools and best practice workflows
Coordinate with IT, contribute to discussions related to the hardware and software requirements for the firm's digital delivery
Lead the internal BIM consultation team
The BM will be a collaborative and effective team member who can develop solid working relationships with studio colleagues. They will be highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing demands, and work independently. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, working effectively with diverse project teams. Strong communication skills are essential, including the ability to clearly convey ideas and technical concepts to audiences with varying levels of knowledge and experience.
