ID Fusion is looking to hire a First Nation, Inuit or Métis post-secondary student to join our team as an IT Support Technician Intern. This summer prospect is ideal for individuals current to IT, offering hands-on learning, practical experience, and foundational skill development in a supportive setting.

As an IT Support Technician Intern, a typical day might include some of the following:
Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications
Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
Asking targeted questions to quickly understand the root of the problem to diagnose and troubleshoot network, software and hardware issues
Walking the customer through the problem-solving process either via phone, email, chat, remote desktop applications or on-site as required
Recording events and problems and their resolution in logs




Following up with clients to ensure their IT systems are fully functional after troubleshooting
Set up recent users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues
Passing on any feedback or suggestions by customers to the appropriate internal team
Properly escalating unresolved issues to appropriate internal delivery teams
Documenting technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
Identifying and suggesting possible improvements on procedures
Support the roll-out of new applications
Prioritise and manage many open cases at one time
Assess current state of ID Fusion and client systems and provide recommendations for new/replacement systems
Test and evaluate new technology

Eligibility Requirements

This opportunity is for First Nation, Inuit or Métis students who attended post-secondary school full-time during the current academic year and who are returning to school on a full-time basis in the upcoming academic year. (part-time and distance education students do not qualify).
