Integrity Reforestation is looking to hire a head cook for our 2027 spring/ summer planting season in Ontario. If you have a passion for cooking and a strong positive work ethic.

Please note we are looking for an applicant with a minimum of 3 years cooking and kitchen management experience.

Position title
Head Cook

The Head Cook oversees the daily food service operations of our remote reforestation camps across Northern Ontario. This role is essential to maintaining the high nutritional and morale standards required for crews planting millions of trees each season.

Working alongside the Assistant Cook, the Head Cook plans and prepares meals for approximately 70 workers, handles kitchen organization, dishwashing, sanitation routines, and contributes to smooth, effective service during breakfast, lunch pack-out, and dinner.

This is a physically demanding, fast-paced position ideal for someone who enjoys high-energy kitchen environments, thrives in team settings, and is comfortable living and working in a remote camp.

Work Conditions

Remote bush camp setting, typically May-July depending on contracts.

Long workdays,



often 10–12 hours with split shifts (early morning + evening).

Fast-paced kitchen environment feeding large crews.

Work may involve cold mornings, heat, mud, bugs, and rugged camp terrain.

Meals provided while in camp.

Required

A minimum of 3 years cooking and kitchen management experience.

Ability to mean plan

Strong work ethic and ability to stay organized under pressure.

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting 25–50 lbs regularly).
Ability to wake early (3AM) and maintain consistent daily attendance.

Positive attitude, teamwork, and willingness to take direction.

Commitment to safety and cleanliness.

Preferred

Valid driver’s licence (helpful for supply runs).

Experience working in remote or outdoor environments.

Compensation

Expected to work 10 hours/ day

All meals, and transportation between camp and work sites included.
