In this role, you will support classroom teachers by providing personalized 1:1 assistance to a student. Your role helps students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, especially those with diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities
Assist student with daily instructional activities
Support student individual learning plans by providing tailored assistance in core subjects such as math and reading
Implement strategies for students with disabilities or special education needs, ensuring they receive appropriate support
Use effective communication skills to engage with students, encouraging participation and confidence
Help create a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, inclusion, and active learning
Support early childhood education initiatives by engaging young learners in age-appropriate activities
Qualifications
Prior classroom experience or experience working with children in educational settings
Knowledge of teaching methods and strategies suitable for diverse learners
Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in special education programs is preferred
Understanding of the Ontario curriculum
Flexibility to pivot during lessons to meet special interests
Teachers, PSWs with education experience, and EAs are encouraged to apply.
Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 per week
