Title: Funding/Finance Coordinator

Start Date: November 2026

Term: 1-Year Fixed term with the possibility to become Fulltime

Accountable to: General Manager of Capital and Infrastructure

Summary of Function:
The Funding/Finance Coordinator supports the department’s financial operation by managing funding opportunities, preparing applications and reports, monitoring budgets, and ensuring invoices are processed and paid accurately and on time. This role helps maintain compliance, supports financial planning, and ensures resources are effectively managed to achieve departmental goals and community priorities.

Job Duties:

Keep accurate files on ongoing Capital projects.

Assist Construction Coordinators with purchase of materials.

Create, record and track purchase orders.

Process invoices and payments.

Complete and present yearly fiscal budgets and send annual service charges to departments.

Respond to vendor inquiries.

Prepare reposts relating to projects for funders.

Ensure steady workflow and communication between Capital department and Finance department.





Research and identify new funding opportunities

Assist with the preparation and submission of funding proposals and applications.

Track funding agreements, deadlines and reporting requirements.

Assist with financial reports to funding agencies.

Maintain a funding calendar and reporting schedule.

Adhere to the finance policies and procedures and other policies within the LMG.

Other related duties in the Capital and Infrastructure Sector.

Requirements:

Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.

Proficiency in English language; Mi’gmaq and French language is an asset.

Proficient in various office-based software including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Sage.

Solid knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

High level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability.
