Our public sector client is seeking a Senior Front End Development Specialist (10+ years) to design, develop, test, and implement customer-facing applications using HTML5, React, Stencil.js, and REST APIs.

This role supports the development of an online self-service solution that integrates with existing digital services. The successful candidate will contribute to front-end development, application integration, accessibility compliance, and secure customer-facing functionality supporting large-scale public sector operations.

Contract, Toronto, Hybrid, Working Hours: EST

Must Haves

Extensive integration of REST APIs using JSON and XML for enterprise web applications

Extensive work on application architecture , technical documentation, risk assessments, accessibility compliance, and QA/UAT feedback management

Experience developing accessible digital products compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA , AODA , and WAI-ARIA across web, iOS, and Android platforms

Post-secondary education in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice to Have

Experience developing secure customer-facing applications in a public-sector or highly regulated environment

Experience maintaining large-scale information technology applications

Experience conducting root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and debugging during application outages

Responsibilities

Design, develop, upgrade, test,



and implement software components

Document technical specifications, system designs, interface specifications, and integration details

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system functionality, data integrity, integrations, and user access

Collaborate with project team members and integration partners to support solution implementation

Develop responsive, accessible, and secure front-end application components

Implement integrations with City systems and REST-based APIs

Ensure developed interfaces comply with WCAG 2.1 AA, AODA
