About the chance
The Senior Director, Risk Officer is responsible for leading, executing, and continuously evolving DNTB’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program. This role provides independent risk oversight and partners with the President, executive management, and the Audit & Risk Committee (ARC) to ensure DNTB maintains an effective risk management framework appropriate for the Bank’s strategy, size, complexity, and risk profile.
The Risk Officer reports administratively to the President and operates under the functional oversight of the Audit & Risk Committee. The Risk Officer has direct and unrestricted access to the ARC and ARC Chair, with the authority to independently elevate material risk matters when appropriate.
This is DNTB’s senior risk leadership role, responsible for connecting the Bank’s risk strategy, risk appetite, regulatory expectations, and business priorities to effective and sustainable risk management programs, processes, monitoring, and reporting. The role translates the approved risk strategy and appetite into scalable programs and provides recommendations on how DNTB’s risk framework should evolve in response to business strategy, growth, emerging risks, and regulatory expectations.
The successful candidate will be an execution-oriented risk leader who combines sound independent judgment with collaboration and practical problem-solving. Success will be measured by the effectiveness of DNTB’s ERM program, the timely identification and management of risk issues, the quality of management and ARC reporting,
and the ability to translate risk priorities into sustainable execution.

Provide independent risk monitoring and constructive challenge while working collaboratively with DNTB leaders to develop practical mitigation strategies and resolve risk issues.
Conduct or coordinate risk assessments for current products, services, partnerships, and significant business initiatives.

Partner with Compliance, Credit, Finance/Treasury, Technology, Information Security, Operations,
Legal, Internal Audit, and other functions to support effective enterprise risk management.
Lead ERM engagement with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and other regulators as necessary, including examinations, information requests, supervisory discussions, and remediation of ERM-related observations.
Lead and develop the ERM team, including one direct report, with clear priorities and accountability for execution.
