One-year contract in downtown Calgary starting in November! Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Senior Contracts & Procurement Specialist in the energy sector in Calgary, Alberta. Our client is looking for an experienced procurement and contracts skilled to support major capital projects across their business. This role will lead sourcing initiatives, contract negotiations, supplier selection, and contract management activities while partnering closely with Project Management, Engineering, Legal, and Finance teams.
Responsibilities: Lead competitive sourcing events, including RFPs, RFQs, supplier evaluations, and contract awards.
Develop sourcing and contracting strategies for major capital projects.
Monitor supplier performance and contract compliance.
Support invoice validation, commercial reconciliations, and dispute resolution.
Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers and contractors.
Manage contracts throughout their lifecycle, including amendments, change orders, claims, renewals, and closeout.
Identify and mitigate commercial, contractual, and supply chain risks.
Provide commercial guidance to project teams on supplier selection and contract strategy.




Successful candidates will have: 8+ years of procurement, sourcing, contracts, or supply chain experience.
Experience supporting major capital projects in industries such as energy, oil & gas, pipelines, utilities, industrial construction, or infrastructure.
Experience with EPC/EPCM, construction, engineering, equipment, or service contracts.
SCMP or similar professional designation.
Oracle ERP or comparable procurement systems experience.
Strong experience leading competitive sourcing events and supplier negotiations.
Proven contract management experience from award through closeout.
Hands-on experience with change management, claims management, and contract administration.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 4 days in-office and 1 day work from home
Contract duration: 12 months
