Software Developer III – Credit Risk Platform

As a Software Developer III, you will design, develop, and enhance systems powering Moneris’ Credit Risk platform, supporting core business operations and decisioning. You’ll contribute to a platform that evaluates credit risk in a high‑reliability setting, where performance, accuracy, and scalability directly impact business outcomes. This role offers exposure to modern backend development using Java, Spring Boot, and cloud technologies, with opportunities to influence system design and architecture. You will work across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements through production delivery, collaborating with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.

Location: Toronto, ON (in‑office collaboration with remote flexibility). You will report to the Manager, Software Development.

Salary Range: $85,000 – $119,000 plus variable or discretionary incentive components, including bonuses and commissions.

Design, develop, and maintain backend services supporting the Credit Risk platform.

Build and enhance RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.

Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.

Implement and maintain automated testing, including unit tests and test data strategies.

Collaborate with stakeholders to improve system performance and decisioning accuracy.

Support full SDLC, including code reviews, builds, deployments, and production support.





Mentor junior developers and contribute to code quality and engineering standards.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

- 4+ years of experience in software development using Java (Java21 preferred).
- Experience building applications with Spring Boot and RESTful API development.
- AWS or GCP acceptable).
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit) and shift‑left development practices.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.

Experience in financial services or credit risk/adjudication systems.

Experience with testing and QA tools such as RestAssured, Mockito, and JaCoCo.

Experience with Spring Data JPA and enterprise data access patterns.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and build tools such as Maven.
