JOB DESCRIPTION
The Network Technician / Cabling role spans L2 to L3 skill levels and serves as the senior technical resource within each deployment pod. These are working roles first. L2 and L3 technicians are hands‑on installers executing alongside L1 technicians throughout the shift; they do not step away from the work to manage. Technicians at the L3 skill level additionally serve as pod captains, providing primary technical direction within the pod and functioning as the first escalation point for L1 technicians before issues reach the Technical Lead. L2‑level technicians support the pod captain as the secondary working anchor. All Network Technicians are expected to maintain Dell client standards and site safety requirements at all times and to model those standards for the technicians working alongside them.

3 to 7 years of hands‑on experience in structured cabling, fiber optic installation, or data center deployment
Solid proficiency with single‑mode fiber optic cabling, MPO/MTP connector types, and fan‑out assemblies
Demonstrated ability to perform proper cable routing, dressing, labeling,
and securing in a production data center environment
Experience reading and executing from rack elevation diagrams, port maps, cabling matrices, and LLD documentation without continuous supervision
Working knowledge of data center physical infrastructure: rack‑and‑stack, cable tray systems, cable management arms, and structured cabling standards
Comfortable providing informal technical guidance and pace direction to junior technicians in a pod or team environment
Working knowledge of RDHx or DLC cooling infrastructure at the rack level; ability to cable in proximity to cooling components safely
Understanding of ESD protocols, energized equipment safety, and liquid cooling leak awareness
Physical capability to stand, walk, lift, and work in physically demanding conditions for extended shift durations
Valid passport; ability to travel to and remain on‑site in Mackenzie, BC for the full engagement duration
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience with Dell XE9780 GPU servers or comparable AI compute hardware
BICSI INST1/INST2, FOA CFOT, or equivalent fiber optic installation certification
Experience informally leading, mentoring, or providing direction to junior technicians on a deployment team
Experience working in a remote or fly‑in/fly‑out job site environment
Familiarity with optical loss testing, OTDR, and fiber certification tools
