We design and manufacture next‑generation aircraft engines that power the world’s largest fleet of business, general aviation, and regional aircraft and helicopters. For nearly 100 years, our teams have been at the forefront of propulsion technology, pushing boundaries to make flight more efficient and reliable. Our engines support missions that truly matter, from transporting people and essential goods, to enabling emergency medical services, humanitarian operations, and wildfire suppression around the world.

Why join our team? Are you ready to design software that powers the future of flight? Join us as a Control Systems Software Design Engineer and be part of a team developing cutting‑edge, safety‑critical control system software for aircraft engines. In this role, you’ll work across the DO‑178 lifecycle, from requirements capture and design through verification and certification. If you’re driven by innovation, collaboration, and the thrill of seeing your work take to the skies, this is the role for you!
Location and Working Hours The position is based at either our Mississauga, Ontario, or Longueuil, Quebec, locations. This position is fully on‑site, Monday through Friday.

What will your day‑to‑day look like? Develop aircraft engine control system software architecture, requirements, and code using model‑based design, Assembly, Ada, C/C++, and other programming languages. Perform in‑depth reviews, analysis, and testing of software systems in collaboration with our global engineering team. Create and review certification artifacts, support SOI audits, and ensure our software meets the highest industry standards and complies with DO‑178. Support software testing activities in simulations, test benches, test cells, and flight tests. Be a change agent by driving process improvements and helping us push the boundaries of automation.
What do you need to be successful? Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science. At least 5 years of experience in controls, embedded safety‑critical systems, avionics, or gas turbine environments. Knowledge of powerplant systems, sensors, actuators, and aircraft interfaces. Experience with DO‑178 or similar standards. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A collaborative spirit that thrives in a team‑oriented workplace. A proactive and adaptable mindset, with the ability to take on challenges and find creative solutions. Strong organizational and time‑management skills. A passion for continuous learning and growth within the aerospace and defense industry. This position is part of a French‑speaking work environment; it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
