Job Description
Network Services Lead

About the Role
Our client is hiring an Enterprise Network Lead to run the day-to-day health of its corporate network and take it forward. You'll own a connected environment of wired and wireless networks, WAN links, remote access VPN, Azure-based networking, and Fortinet security infrastructure. You'll advise IT leadership on network direction, push for consistent standards, and bring in new approaches where they make sense.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll guide a team of network engineers, step in on the toughest incidents, and work alongside architecture, security, and cloud colleagues, external carriers, and internal business teams. The goal is a network that stays secure, dependable, and ready to scale.
What You’ll Do
Direction and Standards
Help IT leadership set the plan for network operations, including standards, policies, and ways of working that support security, uptime, and business needs
Review performance data, service trends, risks, and new technologies to help decide where the team should focus
Create and keep current the documentation, monitoring, and runbooks that keep service delivery consistent
Running the Network
Keep the network and communications environment available and performing well, and keep improving it
Run the incident, problem, change, and recovery processes, and raise the quality of how the team delivers service
Lead the response to complex outages, find the root cause, and make sure the fix holds
Replace manual work with automation and build solutions that scale
Technical Leadership
Act as the senior technical authority for LAN/WAN, wireless, VPN, Azure networking, Fortinet security, and enterprise connectivity
Guide, coach, and develop the network engineers on the team
Vendors and Partners
Manage relationships with internet providers, telecom carriers,
and other third parties so connectivity stays reliable and service levels are met
Work with infrastructure, cloud, security, and business teams to deliver network services that fit their needs
Experience
What You Bring
8+ years in enterprise network operations, with a background in infrastructure support and IT service management
5+ years leading or directing a network operations team in a large, complex environment
Strong experience with network design, connectivity services, and security across on-premises and cloud environments
Proven track record managing ISPs, telecom carriers, and other vendors, including service levels and escalations
Solid grounding in structured incident, problem, and change management, with a focus on continuous improvement
Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments, including Azure networking and business-critical services
Technical Skills
Hands-on experience with Fortinet firewalls (FortiGate), SD-WAN, and secure connectivity
Working knowledge of cloud networking and how it connects to on-premises infrastructure
People and Communication
A record of leading, coaching, and growing technical teams
Strong working relationships with vendors, service providers, and stakeholders
Clear communication, sharp analysis, and sound judgment under pressure
The ability to explain technical problems in terms of business impact and recommend next steps
Work Setup
