Guru Angad Dev School requires a primary teacher for Kindergarten. We are a Sikh faith-based school which promotes a collaborative, inquiry-based learning environment for students to develop their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
As an experienced, skilled, and innovative teacher, you inspire students. You are actively engaged in planning, implementing and assessing student learning. You are confident in curriculum development and demonstrate an approach to teaching. You understand the importance of parents as partners in their children’s education by maintaining open and collaborative relationships with the parent community. As a lifelong learner, you demonstrate a commitment to actively seeking professional development as well as participating actively in the life of the school. You genuinely care about the mental well-being of students and support an SEL approach.
Support the growth and development of individual learners through differentiated learning techniques.
Work collaboratively with teachers to plan, develop, and implement an extraordinary learning experience for each individual student.
Build relationships with teachers and staff across the school community.
Relevant university qualifications (e.g. Bachelor of Education plus Bachelor of Arts, Science or equivalent)
Ministry of Education Certificate of Qualification (Conditional or Professional)
ECE experience or experience with primary children is a bonus
A comprehensive understanding of current educational practices outlined in the BC Ministry of Education documents
Committed to the craft of teaching, best practices, and standards of professional practice
Versatile, adaptive and can think on your feet
Energy, commitment and a readiness to participate in the co-curricular program the diverse life of the school community
Must be legal to work in Canada
The teaching contract would start September 2026 and continue until June 2027.
Employees of Guru Angad Dev School receive competitive compensation, with opportunities for consistent professional growth and development as well as extended health benefits and a number of paid sick days. Base pay for BC Certified (COQ) starting teachers is: $6400/month for a 10 month term
