We are looking for a passionate, hands-on Assistant General Manager to join our leadership team and help drive operational excellence, team development, and an exceptional guest experience.

The Opportunity

As Assistant General Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager to oversee daily restaurant operations, lead and develop the front-of-house team, maintain service standards, and support the restaurant’s financial and operational performance.

The ideal candidate is a natural leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads by example, takes ownership of the guest experience, and understands how strong systems, teamwork, and attention to detail contribute to a successful restaurant.

Key Responsibilities

Restaurant Operations

- Support the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations and ensuring smooth service across all shifts.

- Maintain exceptional standards of service, cleanliness, presentation, and overall restaurant readiness.

- Lead pre-shift meetings, communicate daily priorities, and ensure the team is prepared for service.

- Monitor reservations, table management, guest flow, and service execution.

- Ensure restaurant policies, procedures, and health and safety standards are consistently followed.

Team Leadership & Development

- Lead, coach, and motivate front-of-house team members to deliver outstanding hospitality.

- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and ongoing staff development.

- Build a positive, accountable,



and cooperative team culture.

- Assist with scheduling, shift supervision, attendance, and labour management.

- Lead by example on the floor, providing hands-on support during busy services.

Guest Experience & Hospitality

- Ensure every guest receives warm, attentive, and professional service.

- Handle guest feedback, complaints, and service recovery with professionalism and sound judgment.

- Maintain strong knowledge of the menu, ingredients, allergens, wine, cocktails, and beverage offerings.

- Ensure the team consistently communicates menu details and accommodates guest needs appropriately.

- Support initiatives that strengthen guest satisfaction, repeat business, and the restaurant’s reputation.

Financial & Business Performance

- Assist in monitoring sales, labour costs, discounts, voids, and other key operational performance indicators.

- Support labour planning and productivity while maintaining service quality.

- Help control operating expenses, reduce waste, and protect restaurant profitability.

- Review daily sales reports and operational results to identify opportunities for improvement.

- Ensure accurate cash handling, POS procedures, and completion of shift reports.

Standards & Continuous Improvement

- Work closely with the kitchen and management teams to ensure strong communication and coordinated service.

- Maintain compliance with company policies, applicable regulations, and food safety requirements.

- Identify opportunities to improve service standards, operational efficiency, and team performance.

- Support special events, promotions, menu launches,



and other restaurant initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

- Previous experience in restaurant leadership, preferably as an Assistant General Manager, Restaurant Manager, or experienced Front-of-House Manager.

- Strong understanding of full-service restaurant operations and hospitality standards.

- Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate a diverse team.

- Solid knowledge of restaurant financials, labour management, sales reporting, and cost control.

- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to remain composed, make sound decisions, and lead effectively in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong guest-service instincts and a genuine passion for hospitality.

- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

- Experience with restaurant POS systems, reservation platforms, and scheduling tools is an asset.
