Salary: $120,000–$130,000 per yearLocation: OntarioJob Type: Full-timeA well-established General Contractor specializing in industrial and commercial construction is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their growing team.The successful candidate will have a strong background in industrial and commercial estimating, with the ability to manage estimates from initial drawings and specifications through tender submission. This is an opportunity for an experienced estimator who is confident working with multiple trades, subcontractors, clients, and project stakeholders.The ideal candidate will bring strong technical estimating skills, excellent attention to detail, and a strategic, business-minded approach to construction estimating. For the right individual, there is also potential for the role to develop into a Project Manager position.Responsibilities
Prepare detailed estimates for industrial and commercial construction projectsReview drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and tender documentsComplete quantity takeoffs and analyze labour, material, equipment, and subcontractor costsSolicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotationsIdentify project risks, exclusions, and opportunities during the estimating processDevelop accurate and competitive bids while maintaining project profitabilityParticipate in site visits and pre-tender meetings as requiredWork closely with clients, subcontractors, suppliers,



and internal project teamsReview and challenge estimates to ensure accuracy and competitivenessAssist with project turnover from estimating to operationsMaintain strong relationships with subcontractors and industry partnersContribute to business development and identifying potential project opportunitiesQualifications
5+ years of construction estimating experienceStrong background with an industrial or commercial General ContractorProven ability to estimate projects up to approximately $10MStrong ability to read and interpret drawings and specificationsExperience with quantity takeoffs and understanding of multiple construction tradesStrong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project requirementsExperience working directly with clients, subcontractors, and suppliersStrong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skillsHighly organized with strong attention to detailAbility to work independently and manage multiple tenders and deadlinesStrategic mindset with the confidence to question estimates, identify risks, and find opportunitiesStrong computer skills and familiarity with construction estimating softwareWhat’s Offered
