OverviewTopman - Water and SewerSureway Construction is one of Alberta's largest heavy construction contractors, involved in; civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction.We offer: Perks, RRSP/TFSA MatchingJob Type: Full Time, SeasonalSchedule: 10+ hours per day, 6 & 1, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/weekLocation: Fort McMurray and Surrounding Area's - no direct access to public transportationEssential: Hard-working, reliable, flexible with schedule, ability to work in physically demanding conditions**Options for living accommodations and daily allowances are available and will be provided**Requirements:Personal Reliable VehicleCSA approved steel toed boots with 6" ankle supportPre-employment:Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test or urine-based test)Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientationTopman Responsibilities:Inspection of materials and piping.Oversee installation of piping in the trench.Complete checks on grade and alignment.Shoot with a rod and level.Shoot grade with transit.Direct and signal heavy equipment operators.Install and repair a variety of water and sewer lines.Perform manual and labour intensive tasks as assigned.Direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade.Level top surface according to grade and depth specification.Load and unload tools, materials and equipment.Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:Minimum 2 years' experience as a Topman in Water and Sewer.Experience Shooting grades with a Rod and Level and or Batterboards.Ability to work in physically demanding work conditionsSureway Construction Group is an equal opportunity employer.
