Role Overview We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Toronto based team of investment professionals. The Associate will play a key role in working with Directors and Managing Directors to source, analyze and execute private equity, fund and junior debt investments. Responsibilities Assist in evaluating direct equity, fund investments, subordinated debt and special opportunities; Contribute tothe planning and completion of due diligence; Own financialmodelling, including building and sensitizing LBO models; Draft investment committee memos and materials; Assist in legal documentation negotiation and review; Monitorexisting portfolio companies and prepare quarterly valuations; Build relationships with Private Equity, Growth Equity and Venture Capital Firms; Collaborate with colleagues across BMO Financial Group, including Commercial Banking and Capital Markets, in Canada and the U.S.; Monitorinvestment trends, develop investment theses and pitch on potential investment ideas; Assist in special projects as required. Qualifications The following qualifications are a must:



2-4 years of experience within Investment Banking, Private Equity, Venture Capital, Fund Investing, Leveraged Finance, Restructuring, Transaction Advisory or other relevant areas; Deep understanding of capital structure and working knowledge of principal investing; High level ofproficiency in Excel and excellent financial modelling skills; Abilityto work independently on a number of concurrent transactions with limited direction; Abilityto navigate between industries with a deep understanding of the financing needs of private companies from early to mature stage; Experience working in a multiple member deal team context; Proactive attitude, mature, deep sense of ownership and initiative. The following qualifications will be considered an asset: CFA, CPA, CA, CBV designation or MBA; Experience inconducting due diligence. Compensation Base salary range: $95,000 - $115,000.
