Working under the direction of the Executive Chief Steward,



this position is responsible for completing nightly cleaning and stewarding duties while following all company, facility, health, and safety policies and procedures.The Overnight Dishwasher / Steward plays an important role in ensuring that kitchen equipment, dishware, work areas, and back-of-house spaces are clean, safe, and prepared for the following day's operations. This position requires the ability to work efficiently, independently, and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIESThe Overnight Dishwasher / Steward is responsible for:The breakdown, loading, unloading, washing, and sorting of all dishes, glassware, flatware, kitchen equipment, and other service itemsWashing, sorting, and cleaning items according to facility and Vancouver Coastal Health standardsCompleting nightly cleaning and sanitation duties throughout the kitchen and back-of-house areasSorting, stacking, and storing clean items in an organized and safe mannerEnsuring all breakages and chipped items are removed from circulation and properly reportedCleaning and maintaining floors, drains, work areas, equipment, and designated back-of-house spacesTransporting garbage, recycling, and other waste from kitchen areas to designated disposal areasMaintaining a clean, organized,



and safe work environment at all timesEnsuring assigned overnight cleaning duties are completed to the required standardsReporting any maintenance, equipment, safety, or sanitation concerns to the appropriate supervisorFollowing all company, facility, health, and safety policies and proceduresPerforming all other duties as assigned by the Executive Chief Steward or their designated representativeQUALIFICATIONSThe Overnight Dishwasher / Steward must:Be available and comfortable working overnight shiftsHave the ability to work independently and efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanlinessHave the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentHave knowledge of health and safety regulationsHave a valid FoodSafe Level 1 CertificateHave the ability to obtain and maintain a GPEB licence if necessaryBe able to stand for extended periods of time, reach, bend, and stoop repeatedlyBe able to frequently lift and carry up to 44 poundsPrevious experience in a similar dishwasher, stewarding, cleaning, or kitchen support role is an assetWHAT YOU BRINGA strong work ethic and positive attitudePride in maintaining a clean, organized, and protected work environmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to high sanitation standardsThe ability to work efficiently and independently during overnight hoursReliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibilityA team-oriented mindset with strong communication skillsThe ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environmentA willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to the success of the team
