Contribute to healthy meals with School District No. 51 as a Temporary Food Service Worker at Dr. D.A. Perley Elementary. Prepare, serve, and maintain food items while supporting students’ dietary needs.
This one and a half hour per day role requires collaboration with the Health Promoting Schools Food Coordinator. You'll manage food storage, maintain cleanliness, and assist in ordering supplies while engaging positively with staff, students, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare straightforward food items before and during meal periods
• Collaborate with food coordinators for students’ dietary needs
• Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen work area
• Store and rotate incoming food supplies
• Assist with tracking food supplies and meal counts
Requirements:
• Grade 12 or equivalent education
• Valid FOODSAFE Level 1 certification
• Training in allergy awareness considered an asset
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain relationships
• Physical capacity to lift up to 20lbs
