Western Financial Group was named a 2025 Top Insurance Employer by Insurance Business Canada and is home to more than 2,300 team members supporting over one million customers across 200+ locations across Canada.Personal Lines Underwriter: 9-month contract roleHere is what a typical day looks likeGather and assess risk information to determine eligibility on habitational insurance products including but not limited to, home, tenant, mobile home, rentalsAssist in development of new programs and maintain current programsCommunicate with brokers regarding current policy issuance, changes, renewals and cancellationsAdvise, interpret, and validate coverage based on policy termsIssue policy changes, renewals, and cancellationsSupport internal departments and branches with policy interpretation and technical adviceThe value you bringGeneral Insurance Level 2 License, CIP, or CAIB preferredGeneral Insurance Level 1 License requiredUnderwriting experience an assetProfessional communication etiquette, both written and verbalAdept in retrieving customer data efficientlyInvolvement in industry related associations and your communityFull-time contract role for a term of 9 monthsHours: 37.5 hours/week: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pmLocation: Hybrid if located in Victoria, BC.
