Job Description

WHAT’S THE JOB?

We are looking for a talented, passionate, and dependable Baker / Pastry Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in baking and pastry preparation, takes pride in quality and presentation, and enjoys working in a fast-paced qualified kitchen.

Your work will include:

• Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, desserts, cakes, and other baked goods


• Develop and execute daily baking and dessert menus.


• Preparing and baking goods from scratch


• Restocking pastry shelves and maintaining a sufficient and fresh supply of baked goods


• Maintain consistent quality, flavour, freshness, and presentation.


• Ensuring consistent quality standard in over-all food preparation as per clients’ requirements including consideration to special dietary constraints


• Complying with food hygiene regulations in accordance with Food Safety Act

  washing, and sanitizing equipment and over-all work area

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.


• Minimum 3 years’baking experience in a restaurantor hotel/institutional environment


• Proven experience preparing baked goods for large number of guests


• Ability to stand for a long period of time and lift up to 35 pounds


• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry preparation, and dessert presentation.
