We are currently looking for motivated, hands-on students! As a Paterson Grain Summer Student, you will serve as part of the daily operations, marketing and administrative team at a Paterson Grain location. Reporting to the Location Manager, you will be responsible for assisting and shadowing various staff at the location, with a view to ensuring quality in the handling and delivery of Paterson Grain products and services.What You’ll DoAssist with facility operations, including fertilizer and crop protection products, general maintenance, truck unloading, rail car shipping, grain cleaning, and operating a forklift to load and unload productsFollow operational safety requirements and Health & Safety guidelines when handling fertilizer, chemicals, seed, and other product inventoryOrganize the chem shed on a weekly basis for more visibility as the inventory movesMaintain accurate inventory data and record loadouts and invoices in AGREAssist administration with customer service and processing of grain purchases, contracts and general reports requiredUnderstand the ISO 22000 food safety program as it relates to customers and operationsUnderstand Quality Control factors and how they relate to binning and shipping proceduresSupport the Logistics Coordinator in organizing farm deliveries with required shipmentsWork closely with Marketing Manager in commodity contracting, customer relations and understanding competitive programs in the areaEstablish and maintain demonstration plots and assist with customer toursDeliver chemicals and seed to and from other Paterson Grain facilitiesIndependently conduct field scouting activities entering data into record keeping softwareAssist with planning and organizing summer events:
