Cedar Security is hiring uniformed, tactical security guards for retail locations in Toronto. You will serve as the visible security presence on-site — your job is to deter theft, ensure the safety of staff and customers, and respond to incidents as they arise.ResponsibilitiesMonitoring store entry and exit pointsConducting regular foot patrols of the sales floor and back-of-house areasMonitoring CCTV systems and reporting suspicious activityResponding to shoplifting incidents, disturbances, and emergenciesAssisting with store opening and closing proceduresWriting explicit and accurate incident reports after every eventProviding basic crowd management during high-traffic periodsCoordinating with store management and law enforcement when necessaryThis is not a desk job. You will be on your feet for the duration of your shift, staying alert and staying visible. Retail security requires patience — most of the job is presence and observation. But when something does happen, you need to respond quickly, professionally,
and within the boundaries of the law.Shifts vary based on store hours and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. You may be assigned to a single location long-term or rotate between sites depending on client needs. Cedar provides site-specific orientation and ongoing support from supervisory staff.RequirementsValid Ontario Security Guard Licence (mandatory)Clean criminal record (a background check will be conducted)Professional appearance and demeanor — you are representing both Cedar and the clientAbility to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods (8–12 hour shifts)Strong observational skills and situational awarenessAbility to write clear incident reportsReliable and punctual — showing up on time, every time, is a baseline expectationStandard First Aid and CPR-C certification is an assetPrevious retail security or customer service experience is preferred but not requiredComfortable working independently with minimal supervisionBilingual (English/French) is an asset
