Our client, a national business law firm recognized for the excellence of its professional standards, is seeking a lawyer to join its Montréal-based team specializing in pension plans and employee advantages.RoleYou will join a respected multidisciplinary team and be involved in matters including:Due diligence reviews of pension and employee benefit plans in the context of transactionsReviewing pension and employee benefit provisions in transactional documentsDesigning, drafting, amending, and administering pension and employee benefit plansGovernance and regulatory complianceIssues related to mergers and acquisitions, restructurings,



and insolvency situationsMatters relating to annuity purchasesDomestic and cross-border structuring and tax considerations of plansExecutive compensation and incentive arrangementsAsset transfers, trust agreements, and investment management agreementsYou will advise a client base composed of employers, financial institutions, and plan administrators, both on day-to-day operational matters and in the context of complex strategic transactions.RequirementsMember of the Quebec Bar2 to 6 years of relevant experience in pension plans, employee benefits, or related tax mattersExperience gained in private practice or within a sophisticated corporate environmentStrong analytical skills and technical rigorBilingualism
