we'd love to meet!2 - 3+ years fitting or welding experienceDesire to work in a 7:30 -4:30 office environment - Open to working evenings and weekends for overtime as projects requireDrafting experience (SpoolFab and/or Acorn Pipe)A design and drafting diploma or equivalent education is an assetBasic understanding of the fabrication processBasic understanding of modular constructionAdvanced understanding of piping materialsAdvanced knowledge of piping assembly (field installation and yard assembly)Able to interpret isometric drawings, Piping and Instrumentation diagrams, and Engineered Structural drawingsDemonstrated proficiency in Google Sheets or Microsoft ExcelResponsibilities:DraftingReview and interpret designs and drawings prepared by client engineersGenerate drawings for the construction of projectsResolve drawing and design problems with project managers, shop supervisors, and client engineersDevelop and maintain project material trackers and identify material shortages and issuesGenerate and update various spreadsheets for tracking, scheduling, and general useSupport estimating and managers to bid on upcoming projects for project design detailsProvide technical expertise on design/drafting standardsCreate drawing sets for construction using the SpoolFab program with accuracy and efficiencyFabrication ControlMaintain the Pipe Fabrication Drawing LogCreate, update, and perform daily audits of project Quality Control Progress Reports (QCPRs)Review and process fabrication drawings in accordance with Alstar's documented procedureSpot-check drawings and material lists for errors and omissions
