Job SummaryBarnhart is seeking an experienced and safety-driven Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Inspector to support our crane inspection operations in Western Canada. This role is responsible for performing comprehensive inspections on cranes and rigging equipment to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity and reliability of heavy lift equipment across a variety of crane types, including all-terrain, crawler, truck-mounted, and rough-terrain cranes. Our commitment to continuous improvement and taking on challenging projects makes Barnhart a rewarding place to build a career.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform magnetic particle (MPI) and visual inspections on cranes and rigging equipmentConduct detailed inspections in accordance with CSA Z150 and applicable industry standardsEvaluate weld quality, structural integrity, and compliance with governing codesPrepare technical reports, inspection documentation, and peer reviewsCoordinate repair activities with maintenance teams and perform re-inspections on repaired equipment.Travel extensively across Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan,



and additional locations as requiredBuild and maintain strong customer relationships to support client satisfaction and business growthProvide technical expertise to support the expansion of NDE service offeringsRequired QualificationsCGSB Level II MPI (MT) certificationCWB Visual 1 (CSA W178.2) Welding Inspector certificationWorking knowledge of CSA Z150 safety standardsValid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstractWillingness and ability to travel extensively, including 2–3 week field rotationsExperienceInspecting multiple crane types, including all-terrain, crawler, truck-mounted, and rough-terrain cranesCrane inspection or heavy equipment environmentsAdditional NDT methods (UT, PT, RT)Technologist diploma in a related engineering or scientific fieldPURPOSE– Barnhart is built on a strong foundation of serving others.
