Senior Engineer – Bridge – Ontario WSP is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Ontario Bridge Team, based in Ottawa or Kingston. The role reports to the Ottawa Bridge Engineering Manager and involves the preliminary and detailed design of bridges and other civil structures for federal, provincial, and municipal clients across Ontario and Canada. Responsibilities Lead the preliminary and detailed design of complex bridges, culverts, retaining walls and other civil structures for all levels of government Perform and coordinate structural analysis and design Manage bridge engineering projects, coordinate design teams, and support project management and technical teams across WSP Prepare engineering drawings, specifications and reports Provide QA/QC and peer‑review services for designs and drawings Review shop drawings and provide engineering support during construction Contribute to proposal development and technical write-ups Provide technical guidance and direction to intermediate and junior engineers, support staff, contractors, and vendors Demonstrate strong written, verbal, interpersonal, analytical and application skills Work well under pressure to meet project deadlines Qualifications University degree in Civil Engineering Professional Engineer licensed with PEO,



with 7‑12 years experience in structural design and bridge engineering in Canada Master’s degree in Structural Engineering (considered an asset) Ability to work and converse in French (considered an asset) Superior technical understanding, design abilities and knowledge of current bridge technologies Proficiency in structural analysis software used in bridge design and assessment Experience in planning, preliminary and detailed design, and construction of bridges of standard and complex geometry, and culverts Knowledge of current Canadian design codes and standards Experience with inspection, assessment and rehabilitation of existing structures Expertise in report and proposal writing Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work on several projects at a time with multiple design teams Committed team player willing to help others and collaborate with team members Valid driver’s license Compensation Salary ranges vary by province (latest figures): AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $135,200 – $179,100 MB & ON: $123,300 – $169,800 NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $122,100 – $162,200 Benefits WSP is a Top 100 Employer in Canada for 2026, offers a global community of brilliant minds, limitless opportunities, adaptable work, and real balance.
