You will combine hands-on technical direction with people leadership, shaping how Citi designs, builds, and scales AI-driven systems using Java, Python, and up-to-date machine learning frameworks. This role sits within Citi's Technology function and offers the chance to influence architecture decisions that reach a global engineering organization.## **Responsibilities** * Lead the design and delivery of AI and machine learning solutions, including Large Language Model and Retrieval-Augmented Generation architectures.* Manage multiple engineering teams, setting technical direction and tracking delivery against established goals.* Oversee hiring, performance evaluations, and career development for engineers across your teams.* Own budget planning and resource allocation for AI engineering initiatives, monitoring outcomes against targets.* Define engineering standards and best practices for applications development, ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery.* Resolve complex technical and operational issues by applying deep expertise in AI engineering and broader technology knowledge.* Negotiate priorities and align delivery plans with senior stakeholders across technology and business functions.* Safeguard Citi and its clients by identifying risk early, applying sound judgment, and escalating control issues with transparency.## **Required Qualifications & Skills** * 10 or more years of relevant engineering experience,
