About The OpportunityOur client, an established technology organization developing connected IoT products, has an immediate requirement for a Senior BLE Firmware Developer to join its Ottawa engineering team, 100% onsite.This is an opportunity to contribute to a brand-new connected-device development initiative, working hands-on with Nordic Semiconductor technology, Bluetooth Low Energy and Zephyr RTOS.The successful consultant will be a strong hands-on embedded developer capable of owning production-quality firmware from design and development through hardware integration, debugging and testing.Duties include but are not limited toDeveloping Embedded firmware that will run on Embedded IoT productsDesign, develop and maintain production embedded firmware using C/C++Develop firmware for Nordic nRF52/nRF54 devices using nRF Connect SDK and Zephyr RTODevelop and optimize BLE functionality including GAP, GATT, advertising, connections, pairing/bonding, security and custom servicesDevelop firmware for low-power, resource-constrained connected devicesPerform board bring-up and hardware/firmware integration using SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, ADC and timersImplement low power algorithmsThe successful candidate will have the followingDegree from a recognized university or community college with an acceptable specialization in computer, electrical engineering, systems engineering,



computer science or information systems8+ years of embedded firmware/software development experienceAdvanced Embedded C skills within resource-constrained systems and Zephyr RTOS development experienceStrong commercial experience within the Nordic Semiconductor ecosystem, ideally nRF52 and/or nRF54. Hands on experience with nRF Connect SDKStrong Bluetooth Low Energy development experience and understanding of GAP/GATTExperience developing and optimizing low-power/battery-powered devicesStrong embedded hardware integration/debugging skills, ARM Cortex microcontrollers, drivers and bootloadersComfortable remaining highly hands-on while contributing to technical design and architectureAssets: BLE security/DFU, secure boot, RF/interoperability testing, automated testing/CI, Python, Thread/Matter/802.15.4 and previous IoT/sensor developmentStrong team player, cooperative, self sufficient, able to workMust be able to work onsiteAbout the JobStart ASAP, Initial 6 Month Contract with extension/conversion possibility, 100% onsite.
